WFH v Office Life
In case you have lived under a rock for the past 2 years, working life has changed. Being chained to a desk is gone and a proper work/life balance is vital for any team to remain productive and creative.
Here’s how we like to think about it in the PP Design Team:
There when you need it
Our brand new office in Dublin and our beautiful offices in Porto and Cluj are there when you need them (every day if that’s your thing!). Each office operates on a hot desk booking system meaning you can move freely around them and try out all the different spaces. We view the office as a social space. Each one has amazing collaborative spaces for workshops or even just a quick ideation session at a whiteboard.
Finding your balance
For some working in the office everyday isn’t their thing, so we support working from home when we can. Some of us like to work from home on specific days allowing us to get some exercise in at lunch time before the dark winter evenings set in. I personally like to work from home on Mondays so that I can continue to coach my local under 8’s GAA team in the evening. WFH is about flexibility in your role - not to be working longer hours because you don’t have to commute to an office.
Being flexible allows us to have a better quality of life while also allowing for those times when it’s better to collaborate face to face like in Design Sprints or workshops.
Anywhere you want - 20 days a year
This is the latest option to consider - anyone who would like to work from a different country can now do so for up to 20 days a year.
Flexibility doesn’t end at working from home. Did I mention we have a VERY generous holiday package?
It’s not good enough to say you want to collaborate – you need the spaces for it too.
